I completed Chapter Six of "Olimpia Valley" today. I've been working steadily on it all week, every day writing about a thousand words more than the day before. I'm very pleased to see the back of this chapter, considering it took me about four weeks to complete! Next on the list is Christmas and New Years. A lot of that I'd like to lift from the original version of the book, which will mean a lot of extra work because I'll have to work out what I can salvage, how to make it work with this version of the story and then clean up the writing of whatever I do take. I'm hopeful for a good chapter, though. There'll see some changes happening, which is always very exciting.

In other news, I got my proofcopy of Shadows today. This now means that in six-to-eight weeks it will be available on bookstore websites. I can't tell you how exciting it was to have a copy of my own book, in print, with the right cover (the previous one had the wrong cover). It'll be taking pride of place on the bookshelf downstairs. I only hope there'll be many more where that came from :)

I couldn't resist the pull of the book. I started work on "Olimpia Valley" yesterday afternoon.

The Prologue is complete, and I have written about a third of Chapter One. It totalled nine pages in all. I will continue to write more tomorrow. And will be adding more to the future chapter synopsis's as I go. Once I get the first few chapters written down I usually prefer to start the book and let the next set of chapters flow out on their own, through the writing.

EDIT TO ADD: I've just found out that my novel Shadows will soon be available to buy from places like Amazon. It'll take 6-8 weeks for that to happen but I'm still buzzing from the news :)

The cold is finally letting go of me. I wasn't able to write again last week, which was extremely frustrating. But I got back to it yesterday. Started with a small chapter, which was about 1,500 words, so not a great amount but a good start. Today I'm going to write the big chapter, which is the turn of the book. Strangely, this chapter comes much quicker than usual. It's probably about the middle of the book but because the ending takes up so much of the overall length of the book it feels like the change-chapter is in a strange place.

Shadows was hard to put down from the start.It draws you in and keeps you reading.An excellent novel,and an exciting rollercoaster ride. Set against an apocalyptic backdrop,Shadows is so much more than a sci-fi novel.It explores the different emotions of youth,from the obsessiveness of first love to the isolation and loneliness of feeling misunderstood.It gives a startling insight into the mind of a teenager,with plenty of twists and shocks along the way. I'll definitely be reading more of Ysabel's books.

This is the first book I have read by Ysabel Hunt and I have to say it is quite excellent. I was gripped right from the first page and a hard time putting it down. This book follows the story of a teenage boy as his town is cast in a "shadow". Everyone has to fight for their own survival while trying to help their families and friends. I highly suggest this book if you like anything SciFi, romantic, funny, and/ or about human existence. You won't be disappointed.

I'm moving house at the beginning of January so I've had to put back the start of a new novel until probably the middle-to-end of January. I should be settled by the second weekend of the month so hopefully come the third week I'll be able to finally get back to proper work. I'm missing writing so much. But there's so much to do that there's no time, and my head is always thinking of other things anyway. But once I'm all moved in and settled I'm confident I'll be churning out heaps of pages of work again :)
